Strange Nav error Options

Am doing a round-the-world tour with the Maddog, and just did a leg from Wake Island in the Pacific (PWAK) to Midway island (PMDY)....when I entered the names in the FMS, it takes me west, basically around the world, when it should show a track roughly 049M.

Is there a way around this? Or is it because I am crossing the International Date line?

I dont find it strange. It is sure the date line crossing, I had this very specific problem when I designed a Navigation program.

It is not a 100% real FMS, small issues may been not consider.

I think you must fly that part by instrument navigation. Or try fly route PWAK to WP 27E79 and then heading 69 deg 204nm by instrument.

Mate, not sure what your definition of strange is, but when it does not work as expected, I do find it strange.

I flew to a waypoint just short of the international date line, and then flew heading mode until crossing the INternational date line.

Upon crossing the international date line, ALL the legs in the FMS were wiped out! (yes, I did find that strange also)...but I found that I could now program the rest of the waypoints for destination and it gave me the correct values.

This is the first time I have tried the crossing of the date line in the Maddog, I had flown PMDG before and this didnt happen. I realise they are different aircraft, etc. but just to make anybody aware, there is a glitch in the Maddog FMS.

Ah thanks....good to know I am not going mad thinking this is a problem

I guess the problem is the algorithm for the FMS....it simply calculates on rising or lowering values...ie...flying from East to West will almost always mean flying west, unless you want to cross the international date line, in which case it means flying East...and reverse the other way around...fairly simple...the thing I didnt quite enjoy was seeing all the legs in the FMS wiped out when the International Date line was crossed!!

My definition of strange might be the same , but I expected that it may not work when cross the date line.
