Brakes don't seem to work at all. Runway was dry.

I saw that original post, just want to make sure the developers don't overlook this problem.

We will reduce the effect, and also make this feature optional.

We will reduce the effect, and also make this feature optional. Davide The problem is that even at taxi speed, about 15-20KTS, it's really HARD to slow down (almost impossible). Even with cool brakes. Just tried at Boston : KBOS 181854Z 29017G25KT 10SM BKN049 BKN075 00/M12 A REAL CHALLENGE on 22L !!!! A bit too much I think. -------------------- Fritz ESSONO

Is there an intermediate fix for this? It's really hard to make turns, for example after having to backtrack down a runway.

The fact is I use rudder pedals and then I can use brake half of theyr power and I don't get anymore this issue. On a dry runway at KPHX after landing and engaging reverse thrusters and spoilers to get to 60-70 knots, the brakes would not slow the aircraft down and I went off of the runway, through some trees and off of a cliff...lol. The brake temperature was still in the green. Something needs to to be done to the brakes! Mike |

Haven't had one issue yet, even if I wanted to. The temps have stayed in good ranges on all my landings and they are sometimes even more sensitive than I wanted to. I use CH Pedals.
Can't complain here! |

I have CH pedals also and I can't get the plane to stop. I just went off of the end of the runway at KABQ RW8 which is 13,793 feet long! Most airliners stop about half down this long runway.

Not sure whether this is relevant, but if I get the red "brake" message when I pump the brakes, the braking works. If it flashes between the "brakes/differential brakes" red message, no dice.

So far I've done as suggested in the manual - I ofcourse ARM the autobrakes before landing, then after touchdown I smoothly advance about half reverse and once the SPEED reduces through 100 knots, I nicely step on the toebrakes. I could get it stopped wherever I want, half the runway or at the end of the runway. Depends just how much I apply.
Strange it's not working like this with all of you. I suggest that you go to a local traffic circuit with it, make it a low load and see if the problem still exists. |
