I have a problem with engine startup:

Usually I manage to startup engine 2, but when I follow the same procedure for engine 1 all I get is EGT rising very very fast into the red zone (>600 degrees) and N1 not coming on after I switch on fuel.

I do things by the letter from the tutorial: APU power and bleed, sufficient pneumatic pressure, packs off, engine starters BOTH, startup pump on, all fuel pumps on, crossbleed on the pedestal on, fuel swtichoff on only after N2 has stabilized for several seconds. As I am saying, it works OK for engine 2, but then not for engine 1.

What am I doing wrong?

This is the FS9 version of Maddog 2010 which I am running under Windows7.

Thanks

Mozart

What key(s) have you assigned to your fuel Off/On levers, Moz?

I have not changed key assignments at all, it is CTRL+SHIFT+F4.

Works splendidly for one engine, but then not when repeating the same procedure for the second engine.

Open the fuel levers on the pedestal by using the mouse.

A good tip on the starter switch is to open the cover and on the switch itself rollback on your mouse wheel this will hold it in the open position leaving your mouse free to operate the fuel levers on the pedestal.

Here's a faily simple 'how-to guide for you:

ht tp://www.flythemaddog.com/forum/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=4016

Paste it into your browser, then remove the space from between the 'ht' and the 'tp', so that the link works.
