Please update this guide. The user interface of Hamachi has changed hugely, and I am unable to replicate this guide.

So again, please consider updating your much appreciated guide to shared cockpit flying with the maddog..

Regards...

My question: must one pilot join the FSX-Session from the other pilot and join the same cockpit prior to start the multi crew connection or can this be done without to join an FSX session?

Expl.

PF will do this:

1. Create a LAN Multiplayer Session in FSX
2. Choose an airport and the maddog
3. Thick the option "share cockpit"
4. Start session

NPF will do this:

1. Join the from the PF created FSX Multiplayer session
2. Choose the maddog
3. Join the "shared cockpit" of the PF
4. Waiting for the PF to start the FSXsession.

When PF and NPF are ready the should they connect through the maddog command.
Is the above descripted procedure right or is it not necessary to create first an FSX Multiplayer session to join the Multicrew?
Or should an FSX Mutliplayer session be created but is not necessary to share the plane......What is the correct procedure?????

Did you ever get a response to this post? Sorry that I missed it, and see that it's fairly old.

Our group has tried to use the GameSpy (LAN only) interface along with the Maddog PF-PNF Networking with some VERY interesting results.

First, it doesn't work correctly (as one might well expect, given how the Maddog Networking client works - which is outside of SimConnect). The client side will, at some point, roll to about 90 degrees though it will continue to fly straight (just rolled at 90 degrees or so). The interesting thing is the added functions it provides. What I mean by that is you can actually see a few things you're copilot has done that you are not able to see using only the Maddog Networking client. I don't remember what they are exactly (sorry, it's been a long time), but as I said we found them to be interesting.

So the bottom line is it doesn't work, but opens up some possibilities if the networking client was re-worked.

Davide... you made a liar about our continued contact! LOL
