Hello

I had a couple of flights with failures.

The first one GPWS INOP. I didnt know what to do, I think I cycled the GPWS switch .At the end, it fixed by itself without doing anything on my part.

The second one, Transponder INOP plus CM1 PFD and ND completly black and EGT reading of left engine dashed but engine running with apparent normal remaining parameters. I tried switching the EFIS switch on the back overhead panel from NORM to BOTH ON X, but didnt help anyway. Everything eventually fixed by itself without intervention on my part.

So It left me wandering why things got fixed at the end. And were can i get to get some troubleshooting advice to know whats going on? I thougt that the control panel would show me the failures currently enabled, but it is not the case if the failures triggered because of the random failure generator, isnt it?

Thanks for the help.

Hello,

The manual has a handy section on emergencies. Problem is, I occasionally get emergencies that are too complicated to cover in the manual. In cases like that, building a solid foundation on aircraft systems theory is very important.
Also, if you look online you will be able to find a real MD80 manual. It is more complete than the one provided by LSH.

IMHO, the failure generator is a huge addition to the fan factor in a sim, and no-one has done it better than LSH.
