By the way, before I use your converter, I always had Crash To Desktop when using SIDs and I often had problem with unrealistic SID or STARS.
Since I'm using your converter, I never had a Crash To Desktop and all my terminal procedures are perfect.
Will report if it is necessary but you maybe made something Perfect !!!

[UPDATE]
Hello folks!

Here is v0.4 :
- fixed problems during procedures. waypoints - exepting NAVAIDS (for example UNTIL x.y FROM; INTERCEPT RADIAL) - should be visible in ND
- fixed missing SIDS, STARS and APPROACHES at some airports (for example STAR EEL1B at EHAM or missing approach to ILS07R at EDDF)

... and two new features:
- auto created Backups:
You can choose between no Backups ('Don?t create backups'), an autocreated backup subfolder in your target directory ('create backups in %target folder%\Backup') or in a directory of your own choice ('Create Backups in Folder ...' - you will be asked after clicking on 'convert'-button).

- save options
Source, Target and Backup options will be saved for using the tool next time. Check the box 'Save options' before click the quit button. For that purpose a file named PMDG-Maddog-options.txt is going to be created in the same directory where?s the .exe-file located.

Important!!! Unpack the .zip-file to a directory of your choice (i use %fs-root%/Maddog2006).

VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!! Do NOT (NO and NEVER smile.gif ) use the cleanup-tool, because this may destroy the converted navdata.

Please holding on to report bugs.

Thanks for reading (and using)

I?ve already fixed this bug. Please reload v0.4 from attachment above. You will find the v0.4.1 inside.

At this time i?m working to remove another bug (found in EHAM?s SID ARNE1F ff.). Please be patient.

Hi Afentis,
I got very good results, but I?ll help you to make it perfect.
Please have a look to EDDF. There in STARS is written:

"STAR GED1W TRK 242 UNTIL 5.0 FROM FIX GED FIX VISIBLE MTR" That isn?t visible.
Better is:
"STAR GED1W FIX VISIBLE GED FIX VISIBLE MTR". - All "TRK XXX UNTIL etc." don?t work within STARS.

I know there should be a FIX 5 miles away from GED, but I didn?t find a way to manage that - can anybody help?

In APPROACHES is written:

"APPROACH ILS25R FIX VISIBLE REDGO 4000 FIX VISIBLE OM25R 1660 RNW 25R TRK 249 UNTIL 764 FIX VISIBLE FWNB 2500 TRK 249 UNTIL 9.0 FROM FIX FRD FIX VISIBLE MTR 5000".
Better is:
"APPROACH ILS25R FIX VISIBLE REDGO 4000 FIX VISIBLE OM25R 1660 RNW 25R FIX VISIBLE FWNB 2500 TRK 249 UNTIL 9 FIX VISIBLE MTR 5000!".

The first bold text makes no sence because there is no FIX called "764", the second bold text makes it impossible to see the following fix MTR.

Are you using the current navdata (AIRAC0711)? There?s no STAR GED1W inside, only GED2W (STAR GED2W FIX GED FIX D241E FIX MTR - PMDG-syntax).

QUOTE
"APPROACH ILS25R FIX VISIBLE REDGO 4000 FIX VISIBLE OM25R 1660 RNW 25R TRK 249 UNTIL 764 FIX VISIBLE FWNB 2500 TRK 249 UNTIL 9.0 FROM FIX FRD FIX VISIBLE MTR 5000".

Thats exactly the bug i?m working on smile.gif
The right should be "APPROACH ILS25R FIX VISIBLE REDGO 4000 FIX VISIBLE OM25R 1660 RNW 25R TRK 249 UNTIL 764 FIX FWNB 2500 TRK 249 UNTIL 9.0 FROM FIX FRD FIX VISIBLE MTR 5000"

The 'FIX VISIBLE' after a 'UNTIL <height> ' causes this issue.

I downloaded V 4, and put PMDG SIDSSTARS folder for source, and MADDOG Routes folder for target. When I hit the configure button, nothing happens!

The only what you see is the information on the lower edge that X files are converted - but that needs some time.

I have some problem with the procedure. It updates only up to (in alphabetical order) "LFBA" then...stop, nothing happens. TAskmanager says "PMDG... doesn't respond".
What can I do?

Thank for reply and for the utility

Hi Fabio,

sorry, no explanation. I?ve converted all 2100 files three times without any problems and each within about 2 minutes... It needs 100% CPU performance and about 250 MBs RAM. Have a look to your taskmanager and stop all other activities of other programs.

afentis,

Excellent work. I tried version 2 of the program and had trouble with the SIDs for KDEN. After running the PMDG sidsstars again using v4 it is working great. I will keep testing and see if there are any other problems.

With the new AIRAC 0712, the converter stops after 2091 files, but the PMDG SIDSTAR source folder has 3064 files. Any hints? I?m using the newest version 0.4.1. The last converted airport is LTCD, then the app freezes. I tried it 4 times, always the same.

Then delete the last vonverted file "LTCD" (original PMDG file) and test again.

My PMDG folder contains only 2198 files and the converter edits all within less than two minutes. And in a great quality. EHAM, a really big airport, and all procedures works with only one mistake, the STAR EELDE1B. So, after correcting this single procedure all works perfect! thumbsup.gif

Nothing happens when I tried to use the converter. task Manager said the program is not responding. I have closed out most of the background stuff to free up CPU but with no luck and this is a pretty powerfuf PC

The tool generates a lot of cpu load. Don?t worry about this and wait a little bit smile.gif (and don?t believe the windows task manager!)

Thanks Afentis for the quick response but I waited for over 15 minutes last night and nothing happened. Task manager showed me two of the converter were running. I will try to start it lunch time and go back and check after work, once again thanks for your help.
