-Retextured night lighting
-Adjusted VC dome, only shines on main panel(doesn't light up entire cockpit).

I will try to finish it up later this week and upload it to AVSIM.

Beautiful! Just a doubt: why shouldn't the dome light light up the entire cockpit? In real world it does, it is a big lamp set on the dome behind the pilots and the light reaches all the cockpit, like turning on the light in a room.

You are right about that thumbsup.gif However, I find flying with the dome on alot like driving with the dome on; it just makes thinks difficult....
The MD-80 has panel lighting that shines from under the FGCP onto the main panel, this is much more practical in flight as it doesn't give off all of the windshield glare the dome would. In a nutshell since the Maddog does not have seperate lights modeled for the dome and panel I am simply trading the dome for the panel. Does that make sense?

Anywho, heres a few more shots. It is almost there, still not totally happy with the panel lighting; perhaps I am being nitpicky.

Thanks Paul hi.gif I will only spend a few minuts tinkering today when I get home from work, then I will pack it up for AVSIM. I will post again once I have done that. Here's a link to a photo so people can get an idea of what I am going for(just copy and paste).

www.airliners.net/photo/Iberia/McDonnell-Douglas-MD-88/1299493/L/

I will keep at it even after I upload to AVSIM. I have started dabbling in effects, I think creating my own will be the only way to make myself totally satisfied.

Ok, just finished sending it to AVSIM. Should be there in a little while(unless AVSIM kicks it back to me, happens occationally).

File Name:

Maddog_VC_Nightlights.zip

File ID:

279261

It includes install instructions, however if you need help just e-mail me or post to this topic.

I did, it can take AVSIM sometime to actually post it. I read your post and I really doubt this would fix your guage light problem. Have you tried starting a flight at night, with ready for pushback(not cold and dark)?

I had not. I just tried and that did not solve it. Then your response got me thinking, maybe its one of the different panel states possible or maybe the aircraft i selected. I tried with the default maddog paint and voila! It worked! So something is wrong with the American Airlines paints I am using that is causing this problem in the VC. Trying to nail it down, but im getting close!

Any ideas on what could cause a specific repaint to not work vs another?

That's interesting, I don't use the VC cockpit much, but noticed it wasn't working properly with the AA paint earlier today. Maybe the same problem.

For my modification? No, you do not need it. However if you have it installed there is a special note in the readme discussing how not to mess it up when installing my modification.

The VC dome is coded in to only display at night, the only ones who could change that is Leonardo sh.

Sure, it's very nice, but not the real thing. Lights colours are altered in the photo due to exposure.

The panel flood or the backlighting? I didn't use that photo to base this off of; that was for example only. I used memory for the most part.
