Greetings,

I?m attempting a transpacific route with the Maddog. My current flight segment is Cold Bay, AK (PACD) to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski (UHPP). FSBuild auto generated the flight plan up to TUPAN (initial STAR fix).

PACD CDB 55N71 56E79 55E70 54E62 TUPAN UHPP

The FMS is having great difficulty calculating the distance to the waypoint west of the international dateline (it shows millions of miles). I tried deleting the N/S waypoints to TUPAN. The same types of mathematical errors were generated.

Is there a limitation to the FMS with regards to navigating across the international date line? If not, what am I doing incorrectly?

Thank you,

Ryan

I, too, would like an answer to this. I only just discovered that the issue is actually there when I was preparing a flight from PANC to UHPP as part of a "round-the-world" flight I am doing at the moment.

PMDG AIRAC 0904 installed, route;
NODLE R220 NEONN G349 MARCC G583 GEFAR B244 TUPAN
MadDog 2006, ver. 2.5

That said, I have crossed the date/time-line before in other addon aircrafts with FMC without ever encountering this problem (including PMDG), so I doubt that the AIRAC has got anything to do with it...

The Fuel/Route planner in the Maddog 2008 Pro does the same kind of thing. 3,089,334 Kgs of fuel required laugh.gif

No solution yet? This is a pretty serious bug to be left hanging out there...

100% of Maddog users continously are crossing Intl dateline: such bug is positively to be corrected as soon as possible!! Staff???

Might even be a conscious design decision by the Maddog developers, considering how rare a real-world dateline crossing in an MD-82 must be.

Besides the obvious error in distance calculation, what happens if you fly such a route - does the FMS maintain the correct course etc?

No TOM I guess FMS follows only route to TUPAN toward EAST. He makes an entire world tour Eastbound. As far as dateline is concerned for Maddog there is a wall on dateline.
