So if there were a new maddog..what would you like to see?

Apart from the obvious new model with VC and HD textures, I would actually like to see not only the MD-88 but also the 87 or even the MD-90 as well.

+1 for MD-90. The only complaints I have about this plane is the visual quality. If they would bring that up to today standards, I would be a happy flightsim fan.

2 independant CDU/FMC interfaces. Currently there's 2 but you can't work on both at the same time (they are just replications of each other). Ideally you want 2 CDU's which can be inputted to independantly - even on different 'pages'.

I will be very happy just to see new version thumbsup.gif

I think some new engine sounds would be awesome, I have TSS but I don't like it so much.

If new maddog comes with new engine sounds and new textures - he will be nr.1 again!

I forgot bank limiter fix too!

I am hoping that this topic will stay alive so the developers can see what their customers want.

I would pay the full price over again for a new VC and some small updates..

I really can't understand why we can't have some kind of official statement from LSH...?

Just yes, no or maybe would do...

I spoke with Davide a few months ago (I think it was March), specifically about updating the aircraft. This was the third time he and I have spoke about this. In his first two replies he stated that he'd been thinking about an update, and I provided him some feedback about some of changes (multi-crew, network client, changes to aircraft position updates between host and the client (PF/PNF) and a few aircraft systems functions.

Sadly, in Davide's last reply he said that "he'd been away from the software for quite some time...". In "programmer speak", this means that he's thinking he'd have to spend too long to re-familiarize himself with the software and programming than he would like to or has time for. In other words, he gave me the impression that he's done updating the aircraft.

I wrote back to Davide asking for a release of the weather radar as a stand alone function, but did not hear back from him on that one.

I do not enjoy sharing this, as I've held out hope for an update, but given Davide's candor in his last email to me, I really don't believe we'll see another update. Look like he's solidly moved on (by the look of his company website, it's understandable and he looks to be very busy).

So, I love the Maddog, as do many of you and the other guys I've been flying online with for years. In fact, it's still my favorite aircraft to fly, even when I compare it to the NGX, MD-11, and Level-D. Many in my group feel the same way, and have worked hard to give Davide some solid feedback for updating the network software. We're sure to continue to fly the Maddog, possibly as our Multi-Crew trainer when we take our group public - even with two other Multi-Crew capable airliners solidly on the near horizon. After all, if you can fly the Maddog accurately and realistically, you can fly most anything!

My best to all the fellow Maddog enthusiasts!

Dave

Dave..

As much as your message hurts - I wanna thank you for sharing your info on this. It's actaully a releif to have some form of clarification on this. The maddog is what we have now, and will continue to be so - topic closed I guess.

Other great things are to come, like you say. Maybe multicrew for the NGX - the T7 is on it's way, FS Labs is hopefully landing what will be the first proper Airbus, if not BlackBox' Xtreme edition arrives first, and Hans is soon to complete his CRJ package with Aerosoft - FS life is still great!

yeah, I agree. Not great news, but lots on the horizon... 2012 will perhaps be the biggest year for FSX users yet!

I had emailed Davide a few months ago (June 2012) as well and he said that for the moment there is no definite plan, although they are studying the possibility to develop new version of it.

McPhat-standard graphics - if only to shut up the critics (who don't fly this Maddog). Owners are allowed to critique her!

I'm happy as she is.

It is with a tear in my eye that I probably have found out that there are no more updates to the Maddog.
This plane is the most complete/complexe aircraft for FS. I have been back to PMDG, but quickly came back to Leonardoes Maddog, the ultimate airplane.
I am currently working on the a realistic mobile MD-80 simulator and I use Leonardo's software as the platform. Therefore there are some wishes about updates.
1: ALL data can be read and written through FSUIPC or SIOC.
2: Stand alone instrument panels controlled through the network, so that secondary computers can display instrument panels / CDU / Annunciators

Best regards
Claus

Going to back up my post above by admitting defeat.

The software no longer supported by the developer. Shame.

What I would like the most, is VC rework... if it would be possible to couple it with current systems logic.

Wonder how much would McPhat or so, ask for such a job...

There are a lot of very talented painters out there for FSX/FS9, I too wish someone would give this a whirl.

There are a few mods out there, like th VC Lighting Mod here in the forums, that make a different. Also, Google Maddog Textures and you should be able to find the textures that someone added the Alpha too. It doesn't make a huge difference, but it is a slight improvement on my system.

We keep flying the Maddog, even though the developer no longer supports the software, because it's still the only commercial aircraft that is shared cockpit capable. I learned today that the Flight Sim Labs A320 will only have shared cockpit for P3D, and not FSX. That was REALLY bad news.
