Wow, she is a beauty. Can't wait!!! Any chance of a repaint without that black protective coating on the radome? American no longer puts that protective paint on the nose, the noses are all gray. The 'black nose' birds are getting very hard to find, was connecting in ORD last weekend and I'd say 75% of the birds I saw have the 'new' nose without the black paint. In fact, the real N454AA does not have the black nose, it has the new all-gray one. Can't wait to see this baby!

Just found an amazing shot of her tail...just waiting for permission from the photographer. And I'll see what I can do about the grey nose.
Maybe I'll add both variants in the zip-file for you to choose :-)

An option for both black and grey would be nice! I like the black nose personally.

I guess I need to check Flight Aware tomorrow from work and pick a few good AA flights.

Any chance of updated textures for the AA repaint? It seems that with the SP1 there have been some minor changes to the model and now there are some markings (the doors come to mind but there may be more) that are missing. I sure hope we'll see an update some day, the repaint is sooooo nice.

Yes all repaints made before SP1 need a quick update for some textures files.. like the fuselage so the doors etc..
But Im sure he will update his great AA livery for this, you have the updated paintkit to download if needed

Heya, the MADDOG2006_AmericanAirlines you need as a base for the SP1 update is no longer avail at Avsim. Any other sources???

Scratch that, found it. Searching for the file name gave no results, the link produced a "file no longer avail" error. But looking for "MADDOG2006" brought up the file.

awesome! thanks it's an awesome livery.. I wish the framerates on this bird were a little better in FSX or am I the only having this problem with it? I mean the maddog in general

Pull back some of the settings in the Performance tab of the Manager. I believe the displays, such as the EOAP use antialiasing, and these sliders control this level. Set wrongly they can create a slideshow, but set appropriately the Maddog is no worse than any other PMDG or CaptainSim, etc,. aircraft. Experiment a bit and you'll find a sweet spot.

However does this affect the VC? That's mainly how I fly, but I've never known if the Performance tab settings affect the VC or just the 2D Panel?
