Full Version: Unable to fine tune Comm Frequencies

I would just like to start out first to say that this is an impressive aircraft and am learning something new around every corner.
Usually when I get stumped, I have been able to refer back to the documentation or this forum via search for help.

But, Im at a loss on at this next challenge.

I currently have the 2008 Basic MD Install with latest service pack:

Ive been setting up to fly in Vatsim and until this point, have not had to set the Comm radios for ATC.

I have not had much luck setting them in VC Mode or via Shift 4

in VC Mode, there are no +/- signs and so the mouse scroll is the only option...which works
In Shift 4 Mode there are +/- signs and also mouse scroll which works

But, when scrolling with the wheel, it will start out increasing or decreasing in blocks of 25, then at some point randomly scroll in even/odd digits, i.e. 122.950 to 122.976 rather than 122.975

Vatsim ATC at this point was 135.35....

Just so you know, I am able to increase/decrease the altimeter in 100 increments past 5000 feet so its not a fine tune issue in that regard

I also tried new software for the mouse, which I had to configure, but only gave the same result in the end

I tried a different mouse and it also behaved the same

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong here

If anyone could offer sme advice

Thanks

I have the same problem. Com 2 in the virtual cockpit tunes fine in 0.025Mhz increments. Com 1 only works for the first couple of increments, then it starts displaying some strange frequencies as you describe.

Maddog 2008 Pro (same problem with and without the latest service pack), FSX, Windows 7.

How could you fix it? Maddog In 2010 I feel the same.
Of course, thank you very much for the help.

Hi, I have the same problem with com1 in VC. But one more thing. When I set 122.8 (first attempt is ok) and put it active it doesn't change the squawkbox frequency.

Just be aware that the com radios are misplaced in the virtual cockpit. blink.gif

The Com 1 is the first on the upper right, just below the squawkbox, the Com2 is the second on the right. The com alone on the left of the stack is not usable. wink.gif

Will try this in the next flight.
