Hi guys,

I am having trouble getting any additliveries to display in FS9.

I am using FS9 on a laptop (Windows Vista).

I just purchased Maddog 2010 Pro, and it works fine, no issues at all so far and a great product.

However I downloaded the livery pack off the Leonado website and a couple of textures from Avsim and they don't show up - only the default MD83 livery.

I have since unistalled all and now I am only trying with an American Airlines texture by Roberto Fusi
(file: maddog2008_AmericanAirlines_fs9-fsx.7z)

I have searched these boards with no solution.

So I have put the texture.AAL_2k8 folder in the FS9/Aircraft/MADDOG2008 folder and this contains all the textures and a thumnail at the bottom. I have also updated the aircraft.cfg and here is a copy of it:

[fltsim.0]
title=LSH MD-82 McDonnell Douglas
sim=md-82
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=MDG
kb_checklists=md-82_check
kb_reference=md-82_ref
atc_id=MADDOG
atc_airline=McDonnell Douglas
atc_flight_number=
atc_parking_types=GATE,CARGO,RAMP
atc_parking_codes=MDG
ui_manufacturer=Leonardo SH
ui_type=md-82
ui_variation=LSH MD-82 McDonnell Douglas
description=Maddog 2008 edition
visual_damage=0
atc_heavy=0

[fltsim.01]
title=LSH MD-82 American Airlines (white nose)
sim=md-82
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=AAL_2k8
kb_checklists=md-82_check
kb_reference=md-82_ref
atc_id=N492AA
atc_airline=American
atc_flight_number=
atc_parking_types=GATE,CARGO,RAMP
atc_parking_codes=AAL
ui_manufacturer=Leonardo SH
ui_type=md-82
ui_variation=LSH MD-82 American Airlines (white nose)
description=Fly the Maddog 2008 edition
visual_damage=0
atc_heavy=0

[GENERAL] ....etc

The livery does not show up either on the Load Manager or inside FS9 aircraft menu.

Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong? It isn't because I am using the 2010 version in FS9 with a livery for the 2008 version is it? Other posts on the boards seem to suggest not.

Any help appreciated, thanks guys.

Richard Everything looks ok. But can you tell us if you get any error when installing a livery pack from this site?.

And Welcome to the forum.

Richard everything looks wrong:

1 replace [fltsim.01] with [fltsim.1]
2 your FS9 path is correct? Try to repair it with Flight1 Registry Repair
3 2008 liveries are OK; 2006 liveries are not (for best control check again your download)

Mauro you are correct. It should be [fltsim.1]

Hi,

Thanks for your help. I have installed the livery pack from the website again with no error messages. I also used the Flight1 Registry Repair with no problems.

So now I have the livery pack from the website, and the American Airlines Livery from Avsim installed, but not showing up in the load manager or in FS9. I have redownloaded them to be sure, and they are also 2008 textures, I checked.

I have changed the fltsim.01 to fltsim.1 and still there is no change. This is very odd and I can't think of anything elese. There must be a reason though!?

The only thing out of the ordinary is that if I go to the texture files themselves and try to open the .bmp's then my laptop gives me a message saying 'MS Photo Gallery cannot open this type of file'. However this goes for all aircraft textures such as the default MD82 one, and they work in FS. So I doubt it has anything to do with that.

What can I do?

Edit: After installing the livery add on from the website my aircraft.cfg changed to this:

[fltsim.0]
title=LSH MD-82 McDonnell Douglas
sim=md-82
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=MDG
kb_checklists=md-82_check
kb_reference=md-82_ref
atc_id=MADDOG
atc_airline=McDonnell Douglas
atc_flight_number=
atc_parking_types=GATE,CARGO,RAMP
atc_parking_codes=MDG
ui_manufacturer=Leonardo SH
ui_type=md-82
ui_variation=LSH MD-82 McDonnell Douglas
description=Maddog 2008 edition
visual_damage=0
atc_heavy=0

[fltsim.1]
title=LSH MD-82 Alitalia
sim=md-82
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=AZA
kb_checklists=md-82_check
kb_reference=md-82_ref
atc_id=I-DACN
atc_airline=Alitalia
atc_flight_number=
atc_parking_types=GATE,CARGO,RAMP
atc_parking_codes=AZA
ui_manufacturer=Leonardo SH
ui_type=md-82
ui_variation=LSH MD-82 Alitalia
description=Maddog 2008 edition
visual_damage=0
atc_heavy=0

[GENERAL] ...

As you can see the american airlines part has been overwritten with an Alitalia part (fltsim.1) and there are no other liveries here; maybe this is not right?

Hi again,

so I just got back from a 1 month trip away and back to my computer.

I reinstalled everything and then installed only the american airlines livery from avsim (texture.AAL_2k8) into the fs9/aircraft/maddog2008 folder. I also then edited the aircraft.cfg file again exactly as in the readme and as instructed in the posts above.

[fltsim.0]
title=LSH MD-82 McDonnell Douglas
sim=md-82
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=MDG
kb_checklists=md-82_check
kb_reference=md-82_ref
atc_id=MADDOG
atc_airline=McDonnell Douglas
atc_flight_number=
atc_parking_types=GATE,CARGO,RAMP
atc_parking_codes=MDG
ui_manufacturer=Leonardo SH
ui_type=md-82
ui_variation=LSH MD-82 McDonnell Douglas
description=Maddog 2008 edition
visual_damage=0
atc_heavy=0

[fltsim.1]
title=LSH MD-82 American Airlines (white nose)
sim=md-82
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=AAL_2k8
kb_checklists=md-82_check
kb_reference=md-82_ref
atc_id=N492AA
atc_airline=American
atc_flight_number=
atc_parking_types=GATE,CARGO,RAMP
atc_parking_codes=AAL
ui_manufacturer=Leonardo SH
ui_type=md-82
ui_variation=LSH MD-82 American Airlines (white nose)
description=Fly the Maddog 2008 edition
visual_damage=0
atc_heavy=0

[GENERAL] ....etc

Still only the default house livery shows up.

I then copied all the files from the AAL texture folder and put them into the default texture folder (texture.mdg). Now, although only the default livery shows up in flightsim, it appears as an American Airlines livery. So I guess I have what I want in a sort of roundabout way, but it is odd that I cant get any additional liveries to show up!!!

Any ideas?

mikealpha
I have the same problem on a new Win7/64 Laptop, none of the liveries show up. The Livery setup worked without error message, all entries in the aircraft.cfg look correct.
Does not happen with any other Addon.
I have tried to start the Manager/Setup program as Administrator, but still the same problem. Complete Reinstalltion also did not help.

Richard, could you solve the problem in the meantime ?

or any other ideas ?
