Hi,

Is it is permissible to fly the MD-82 into here? I think the manual says it is restricted to 9000 ft AMSL.

I'm having a tough time finding what *does* fly into El Alto.

Best regards,
Robin.

N0, 8500' MSL is the limit for takeoff/landing, and Tibet has two airports with higher elevation than El Alto (Bangda @ 15,548' ASL and Lhasa @ 14,315 ' ASL).

Well, I didn't know that. Thanks for this info. I just flew to SLLP LaPaz a few days ago. I set the landing altitude for 134 on overhead panel, and of course "CABIN ALT" warning was lit during all the flight. On the way back, the take off was a real pain, take off roll took all the runway down (about 13.000 ft), and take off weight was about 60 tons. Ver nice scenery from LatinVfr though dribble.gif
