from the previous post related to "gear up audio warning"

"...you should not fly at 5000 ft (and far from final approach) at 180 kt...."

What about flying HP at that speed (or similar) with slats and 15° flaps extended at an altitude of 5000 ft ?? AFAIK it's not that rare to fly HPs in such configuration !

Anyway, the nagging gear-up audio warning is still there, even when disabled with the button located on the throttles quadrant ! I also tried the FS default CTRL+. key combination to stop it without any success (as per the manual the key assigned to this FS function is used in flight to silent the gear horn alarm).

How can I stop it temporarily ? I agree that setting the slide to 0 (vol_landing_gear in LM/Setup/sounds) is not the best solution.

Merci

Gear up warn occurs when throttle is in idle at flaps up to 15 degree and in any condition of power at flaps above 15° at any altitude: the way for minimize warn is a proper flap schedule in order to avoid idle situation up to 15° flap, and obviously the horn silencer on pedestal above.

I'll try to avoid idle throttle setting when flying HPs at KIAS 180/200 with slats and 15° flaps extented. Could be hard... Guess the only way not to be at idle in such configuration is to switch off AT with the risk to loose speed control ! Not that recommended when flying HPs

Does your horn silencer work or not ? mine does not but it might be that I don't know to make it properly working ...

I assigned to Horn silencer a button in my Saitek X52PRO through L/M/Setup/keyboard: the silencer works for a while but if the conditions remain same it start again to warn.

Hi,

The gear warning horn sounds when:

* SPEED: > 210 kts
* THRUST LEVERS: IDLE
* FLAPS EXTENDED (15 DEGREES OR LESS)
* GEAR UP

or the gear warning horn sounds when:

* SPEED: < 210kts
* THRUST LEVERS: IDLE
* GEAR UP

or:

* FLAPS GREATER THAN 15 DEGREES SELECTED
* GEAR UP

Best regards,
Robin.

How about circuit breakers? Is there any circuit breaker to shut that warning off??
